It was a dream come true for one six year old Afghan boy Murtaza Ahmadi who early this year broke the internet with an improvised Lionel Messi jersey made from a plastic bag.The youngster got an opportunity to meet with his idol when he made a special trip from Afghanistan to Qatar where Messi was with his Barcelona team mates to play a friendly match against Al Ahli.
Days after his picture with the plastic bag jersey gained world wide attention, Ahmadi was tracked down by UNICEF and awarded a jersey which was personally signed by Lionel Messi.
During Barcelona’s friendly against Al Ahli, it was a dream come true for the Afghan boy whose early wish was just to see the superstar.
Ahmadi got an opportunity to accompany Messi to the match, took photos with the Barcelona team and even placed the ball in the center for the kick off.
But immediately ran back to his idol, Lionel Messi and did not want to let go of him.
That’s when one referee had to step in and pull a red card for the young boy and took him out of the pitch.
But with his passion towards the game perhaps he will get worldwide attention once again as a football star next time round.
