Former Migori Governor Okoth Obado has secured a significant legal victory after a Nairobi court approved an agreement that led to the withdrawal of corruption charges against him. In its ruling, the court found no evidence of wrongdoing or abuse of office by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in reaching the agreement. The judge emphasized that the prosecution acted within the law, stating that the court could not establish any misuse of power in how the case was handled.

The court further noted that the agreement satisfied all legal requirements, confirming that it had passed the necessary legal standards. As a result, the court formally adopted the agreement, effectively paving the way for the case to be discontinued.

Following the ruling, all charges against Obado were withdrawn under Section 87(a) of the Criminal Procedure Code, bringing the case to an official close. The decision marks a major turning point for the former governor, ending a high-profile legal battle that had drawn public attention.
