The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has reinstated its online services following a three-day system maintenance that had temporarily disrupted access to its digital platforms. In a brief update, the authority confirmed that all systems are now fully operational, thanking users for their patience during the downtime.
NTSA had earlier notified the public of a scheduled maintenance window that ran from Friday evening, July 17, to Monday morning, July 20. The temporary shutdown was aimed at carrying out preventive upgrades to improve system efficiency and service delivery. During this period, key digital services were unavailable, prompting motorists, vehicle owners, driving schools, and car dealers to adjust their plans accordingly.
With the maintenance now complete, users can once again access a wide range of NTSA services online. These include:
- Application and renewal of driving licences
- Motor vehicle ownership searches
- Vehicle ownership transfers
- Driving test bookings
- Public service vehicle licensing
The authority reiterated that the upgrade was necessary to enhance system reliability, strengthen security, and reduce the likelihood of unexpected outages in the future.
NTSA continues to expand its digital platform as part of Kenya’s broader push toward e-government services. The online system handles thousands of daily transactions, making it a critical tool for delivering efficient transport services. The authority also apologized for the inconvenience caused during the maintenance period and expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding. With systems now restored, customers can proceed with their transactions seamlessly through NTSA’s online portal or seek assistance via official communication channels where needed.
