ERC shuts down ten petrol stations over non-compliance

Energy Regulatory Commission has closed around 10 petrol stations for failing to comply with the body’s regulations on petroleum selling.

The regulatory body has come to the decision after finding out that the retailers offered diesel oil contaminated with kerosene and also found them selling fuel meant for export.

ERC conducted tests between October and December on a couple of petrol stations across the country and found 97.8% compliant while 17 sites were non-compliant.

The closed stations include capital oil limited Nairobi, Kwa Tony Filling Station Makueni, Tripple W filling station Kayole, Baobab filling station Mombasa and others.
