Kenya dominates East Africa School games

Kenyan schools have so far dominated the ongoing Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) with six gold medals claimed in the ball games. Kosirai won the first gold for Kenya when they beat compatriots Soweto in the girls volleyball final to pave way for Kakamega, Kirugoya and Kamusinga who all lifted the rugby 15s, girls hockey and handball respectively. Kenya also kept her target of reclaiming all regional volleyball titles from Rwanda after Malava booked a final berth with a yet to be determined opponent between Rwandan duo of Rusumo and Apapen whose other semi final match was called off following a heavy downpour in Eldoret.

This was after Kenya swept the podium in the girls category after Lugulu Girls beat AGS Rwanda 3-2 ( 23-25,25-11,24-26, 25-12, 15-11) for third place to join new champions Kosirai who beat Soweto 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-16, 25-15) in the all Kenyan final.
