Laikipia North MP in trouble after fighting female colleague

Laikipia North Member of Parliament Mathew Lempurkel has been arrested for asaulting Nominated MP Sarah Korere at the Office of the President. The two MPs had to be thrown out of the office after engaging in a fist fight in a confrontation that turned nasty forcing security officials to intervene.

Lempurkel however immediatedly recorded a statement at the parliament police station accusing Korer of assaulting him first but that was not taken well by female MPs in the national assembly.

The Kenya Women Parliamentary Association is now baying for Lempurkel’s blood in what they say is a henious act against one of their own.

Millie Odhiambo called on the speaker of the national assembly Justin Muturi to take action against the legislator requesting that the examination report be released to establish if indeed he was hurt or just spinning a lie.

Adding to the call by the women Mps, nominated MP Jonson Sakaja said the MP acted in a rather uncouth manner as he was afraid of the political mileage Korere had made as she expressed interest in vying for the Laikipia north seat come 2017.

The nominated lawmaker received treatment at the Nairobi Women’s Hospital following the attack that has taken political rivalry to another level.

What might have sparked more emotions was a vile text message sent by Lempurkel to Korere reffering to her in insulting terms and threatening her to drop the case
