Fuel consumers will have a sigh of relief following the latest price review by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). The new rates that will be effective midnight on Thursday have seen super petrol decrease by sh3.74, diesel sh2.05 while kerosene is down by sh3.38 per litre. In Nairobi, super petrol will retail at sh91.39 per litre, diesel at sh82.46 per litre while kerosene down to sh59.10 per litre.
In Mombasa petrol will retail at 87.99 while diesel will retail at 79.08 shillings, kerosene will sell at 56.27 shillings in Mombasa. The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) attributed the drops to lower global oil prices. Crude oil is currently trading at $42.95 a barrel. The new prices will differ depending on the distance of the towns from Mombasa.
