National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has launched an ethnic audit on staff inclusivity at Statehouse. According to NCIC Commissioner Dr. Roba Sharamo, the report will be presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta in the next one month for action.Dr. Sharamo said the audit will clear or assert perception that majority of staff in statehouse are from one ethnic group. Sharamo was speaking in Nakuru during the third annual Kenya Peace Conference organized by Peace Net Kenya in preparation to the global peace day commemorated today.
Sharamo also revealed that less than 20 counties have complied with the employment law. He says that although it may be challenging to attain sheer ethnic inclusivity in employment of staff in public and private offices, effort must be seen to be made.
He notes that even the civil groups were grouping in tribal line adding that it was a matter they will be looking into.
