PORTUGAL BEATS FRANCE TO CLINCH 2016 EURO CUP

Portugal secured their first major international title after a 1-0 victory over hosts France in the Euro 2016 finals last night at Stade De France. This came as a surprise to many as critics termed Portugal’s style of play ‘unconvincing’. The Portugese team finished third in their group and barely dominated a single game.

Portugal Captain Cristiano Ronaldo left the pitch in tears after a heavy tackle from Dimitry Payet. At this point, everyone expected the team to crumble and give France the victory but the rest of the Portugese players fought hard and strong.

Substitute Guinea Bissau-born striker Eder Broke the deadlock in the 109th minute denying France the championship.
