SUPER PETROL PRICE INCREASES AFTER ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION REVIEW

The Energy Regulatory Commission has reviewed pump prices upwards from today to 14th of next month. Super Petrol has gone up by a record 3 shillings and 54 cents per litre in Nairobi and will now retail at 84.25 shillings. The commission says the new retail pump prices have increased as a result of rise in the prices of crude oil in the international market.

Diesel in Nairobi has also risen by a record 4 shillings and 14 cents and will now trade at 70 shillings and 37 cents.

Nairobi residents will also buy kerosene at 46 shillings and 98 cents after ERC’S upwards adjustment of the product by 3 shillings and 2 cents.

ERC says the price of crude oil in the international market has been rising from a low of USD 29 per barrel to the current price of USD 47 per barrel.

The commission says Kenyans should brace for such increase in the other coming months if the status quo is maintained at the international markets.
