Turkish furniture giant Dogtas opens store in Kenya

Kenya and Turkey are set to form a strategic alliance that will foster stronger ties and relations between the two countries. The mutual relation will see investors from the two countries venture into business in the host countries in a move that will ensure investment and new trade opportunities open up for the citizens of the two countries.

Kenyan and Turkish government and business leaders have called on investors to seize up the moment and invest in the two countries in a move that will boost ties between the two countries. Speaking during the official opening of a furniture store by a Turkish Giant, Dogtas, Kenyan ambassador to Turkey honorable Kiema Kilonzo. Called on the Turkish investors to take opportunity of the government’s initiative and set up in the country.

Drawing comparison on the two nations, the Ambassador stated that Kenya has a lot to learn from the European nation. His Turkish counterpart, Ambassador Ahmet Miroglu called for the diversification of the economic relations of the two countries. Dogtas’s entry into the market comes as a significant boost to the growth of the nation and a sign of investor confidence in the country

The entry of Dogtas in to the Kenyan market follows a visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan last year whose aim was to establish economic and strategic relations between the two countries. During President Kenyatta’s visit to Turkey, in 2014, Kenya entered into a memorandum of understanding with Turkey with trade and security topping the agenda.
