UEFA Champions League: Real and Atletico Madrid set to lock horns

Real and Atletico Madrid are set to lock horns again in the semi finals of the champions league tonight at the Santiago Barnabeu as each club club look for any loophole to cruise into the Champions League finals.

Real defeated Bayern Munich in the Quarter-Finals, while Atletico dispatched Leicester City to reach the last four.

The two Madrid clubs have contested two of the last three European Cup finals, with Real coming out on top on both occasions after each match finished 1-1 in normal time.

Revenge will certainly be a motivation for Atletico boss Diego Simeone. His side was seconds away from lifting the trophy in 2014 before Sergio Ramos’s 94th minute equalizer took the game to extra-time.

Real Centre-back Raphael Varane is set to be available after sitting out the weekend fixture against Villarreal.

But the game comes too soon for fellow defender Pepe. Gareth Bale will also miss the clash with a calf injury.

Diego Simeone is facing a defensive injury crisis with Jose Gimenez, Juanfran, Jorge Garcia and Sime Vrsalijko all ruled out.
