UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSEMBLY DELEGATES SET TO CONVERGE IN NAIROBI

Over 2,300 delegates from across the globe will converge in Nairobi- The World Environment capital- for the United Nations Environmental assembly set to begin on Monday. Plans are at an advanced stage and UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner paid a courtesy call on Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.

In the meeting Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero said that Nairobi has and will continue to play its role in enhancing sustainable development.
The United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA) will take place from the 23rd -27th of May at UN in Gigiri. This being the second one to be held in Africa more than 2300 participants are expected at the environmental assembly .

Top on the agenda for discussion will include sustainable development goals, climate change, marine litter , the illegal trade in wildlife and other critical environmental issues.
