When they appeared before Chief Magistrate Anne Mwangi, their defense requested a further mention date, claiming that their counsel, Mr. Njenga Nyenge, was concerned with another issue at the High Court.

However, the prosecution requested that the file be held until 11 a.m., when Mr. Nyenge would have concluded his case, but the lawyer for Mr. Nyenge insisted on a different mention date.

Ms. Mwangi then issued an arrest warrant for each of the brothers for failing to appear in court today, despite an order directing them to do so.

She ordered that the case be heard again on May 3.
