Motorists and households across the country will get slight relief after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced a reduction in fuel prices in its latest monthly review. According to EPRA, the price of super petrol has been lowered by Ksh.2 per litre, while both diesel and kerosene have dropped by Ksh.1 per litre.

In Nairobi, a litre of super petrol will now sell at Ksh.182.52, diesel at Ksh.170.47, and kerosene at Ksh.153.78.Meanwhile, motorists in Mombasa will pay Ksh.180.24 for super petrol, Ksh.167.19 for diesel, and Ksh.150.49 for kerosene. EPRA noted that the pump prices include the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT), as provided for under the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024, and revised excise duty rates adjusted for inflation in line with Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.

The Authority attributed the price adjustments to changes in the average landed cost of imported petroleum products. The cost of imported super petrol slightly declined by 0.10 per cent, from US$592.84 (Ksh.76,446.72) per cubic metre in November 2025 to US$592.24 (Ksh.76,369.35) per cubic metre in December 2025.

Diesel recorded a more significant decrease of 4.20 per cent, falling from US$654.24 (Ksh.84,364.25) per cubic metre to US$626.75 (Ksh.80,819.41) per cubic metre.
Kerosene saw the largest drop, declining by 8.92 per cent from US$667.05 (Ksh.86,016.10) per cubic metre to US$607.55 (Ksh.78,343.57) per cubic metre over the same period. EPRA confirmed that the revised fuel prices will remain in effect until the next monthly review, which is scheduled for February 14, 2026.
