Promotion hopefuls Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA FC) have bolstered their squad as the race for top-flight football intensifies, announcing the acquisition of striker Joshua Amunike and midfielder Steve Brian. Amunike joins the White Rhinos from Nairobi City Stars following an impressive run that saw him score eight goals and register two assists. His arrival is expected to inject added firepower into MOFA’s attack as the club looks to convert more chances into vital points during the decisive stage of the season. The forward’s signing signals MOFA’s determination to secure automatic promotion, providing the technical bench with greater attacking options and depth.
MOFA have also strengthened their midfield with the addition of experienced campaigner Steve Brian, who makes the switch from Naivas FC. Renowned for his calmness on the ball and leadership qualities, Steve is expected to bring balance and stability to the middle of the park. His presence should improve ball circulation while offering a reliable link between defence and attack, particularly in high-pressure encounters.
Currently, MOFA sit third on the league table with 32 points, occupying one of the coveted automatic promotion positions. However, the race remains tight, with the White Rhinos four points behind leaders Migori Youth and just two adrift of second-placed Mombasa United. With margins so slim, every fixture could prove decisive.
The new signings arrive at a crucial moment following MOFA’s recent 1–1 draw against Nzoia Sugar, a result that highlighted both their fighting spirit and the need for greater sharpness in front of goal. As the season enters a demanding phase, squad depth and quality will be key as MOFA aim to maintain their top-three standing and push for promotion.
