The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has officially invited applications from individuals interested in vying for the presidency and other key party positions in the 2027 General Election.

In a move signaling the start of its internal electoral processes, ODM announced that qualified aspirants can now submit their applications to contest under the party’s ticket. The announcement opens the door for a wide range of leaders seeking to represent the party at various levels, including the presidential race, parliamentary seats, and local elective positions. Party officials noted that the application process is part of ODM’s commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and structured political engagement as the country gears up for the next general election cycle.

ODM emphasized that the exercise is aimed at identifying strong and capable candidates who align with the party’s vision and values. Aspirants are expected to meet the required qualifications and adhere to the party’s nomination guidelines. The party has also encouraged youth, women, and persons with disabilities to apply, highlighting the importance of inclusive representation in leadership and decision-making.

Beyond the presidential ticket, the application process also covers various internal party roles and elective seats. ODM is keen on strengthening its grassroots and national structures to enhance its competitiveness in the 2027 polls. Political analysts view the early call for applications as a strategic move to give aspirants ample time to prepare, mobilize support, and engage with voters ahead of the election period.

As political activity gradually intensifies, ODM’s announcement is expected to trigger increased interest among aspirants and shape early alignments within the party. The process also sets the stage for what is likely to be a highly competitive political season. With the 2027 General Election on the horizon, all eyes will be on how parties organize internally and position themselves to capture the attention and confidence of Kenyan voters.
