
Seven people have lost their lives while 27 others sustained serious injuries following a road accident involving four vehicles at the ACK Salama area along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway in Makueni County. The crash occurred on Sunday at approximately 9:30 PM and involved a passenger bus, a trailer, and two private vehicles.
Mukaa Sub-County Police Commander Hussein Abduba confirmed the incident, noting that the collision involved a PSV bus operated by Rambo Sacco and a lorry. The bus was en route to Nairobi when the accident happened near the Machakos–Wote junction, just past Salama town. According to the police commander, the lorry veered off its lane and moved into the path of oncoming traffic, leading to the collision.
Among those who died were four men and three women, all believed to have been passengers on the bus. Emergency responders rushed the injured to Sultan Hamud Hospital, where they are receiving treatment. Meanwhile, the damaged vehicles were cleared from the scene to restore normal traffic flow along the busy highway. Authorities have launched investigations into the cause of the accident.
