Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has revealed that he is receiving treatment for a neurological disorder after experiencing a second collapse during a pre-season match within three days. The 23-year-old Germany international was introduced late in Bayern Munich’s friendly against Heidenheim on Tuesday but collapsed shortly after entering the pitch. He appeared disoriented before receiving medical attention and being helped off the field.
The incident came just days after Musiala suffered a similar episode during Bayern’s match against RB Leipzig on Saturday. In a statement shared on social media, Musiala explained that doctors had diagnosed him with brief and temporary episodes of absence linked to a neurological dysfunction. He said the condition can result in temporary seizures but is treatable.
Musiala acknowledged that the episodes may appear worrying but said he is receiving appropriate medical care and remains optimistic about his recovery. The midfielder also thanked fans and supporters for the messages of encouragement he has received following the incidents.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl had earlier indicated that Musiala would address the situation himself, confirming that the club was aware of his condition. Musiala endured a difficult period last season after suffering an ankle injury at the Club World Cup, which kept him out for several months. He eventually returned to action and represented Germany at the 2026 World Cup. The German international will now continue receiving medical attention as Bayern monitor his condition.
