KCB RFC will look to strengthen their position at the top of the 2026 National Sevens Circuit when the competition heads to the Coast for the Driftwood Sevens this weekend. The fourth leg of the season will be held at Mombasa Sports Club on August 22–23, with teams expected to battle fiercely for valuable points as the race for the overall championship intensifies.

KCB have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, winning the opening Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru after defeating Kabras Sugar 19–12 in the final. The bankers continued their impressive run at the Kabeberi Sevens in Nairobi, where they overcame Strathmore Leos to successfully defend the title for a fifth straight year.

Kabras Sugar responded strongly after their opening-leg defeat, claiming victory at the Dala Sevens in Kisumu. They beat Menengai Oilers 17–5 in the final to keep their title hopes alive. The results have set up an exciting contest in Mombasa, with Kabras, Strathmore Leos and Menengai Oilers among the teams expected to challenge KCB for honours.

With only three legs remaining after the Driftwood Sevens, every point will be vital as the leading teams battle for overall supremacy. The circuit will then move to Embu for the fifth leg on September 5–6 before wrapping up with the Christie Sevens in Nairobi on September 12–13.
