Mosiria’s Gubernatorial Ambitions
The administrative changes come days after Mosiria announced his interest in contesting the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the 2027 General Election, setting himself up as a potential challenger in the race to succeed Governor Sakaja. Mosiria has served in several departments since joining the county administration. He initially held the position of Chief Officer for Health Facilities before being transferred to the Environment docket in August 2024. In November 2025, he was reassigned to head Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, the position from which he has now been removed.
His announcement to seek the governor’s seat has placed him among several politicians and other aspirants expected to compete for Nairobi’s top county leadership position in 2027. Other individuals who have expressed interest in the race include Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Embakasi North MP James Gakuya, Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri and businesswoman Agnes Kagure.
