On November 1, an air of anticipation filled the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, where thousands of Kenyans gathered to witness a momentous event: the swearing-in ceremony of Kithure Kindiki.

Kindiki’s inauguration marks him as the third deputy president of Kenya, a significant milestone achieved following a High Court ruling made just a day prior that lifted conservatory orders which had stalled his ascent to office. As the ceremony approached, heightened security measures were put in place around the KICC to ensure the safety and smooth execution of the event.

According to a gazette notice issued by Mercy Wanjau, chairperson of the Assumption of Office of the Deputy President Committee, Kindiki is expected to take the official oath sometime after 10 am, setting the stage for a new chapter in Kenya’s leadership.

As the crowd eagerly awaited this historic moment, a sense of unity and hope permeated the atmosphere, reflecting the profound significance of this day for many Kenyans.
