Murkomen Seeks Public Support in Bringing Lawyer Mbobu’s Murderers to Justice

Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has condemned the brutal murder of prominent Nairobi lawyer Michael Kyalo Mbobu, calling it a “heinous act” and urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist investigators in unmasking those behind the shocking murder of the lawyer
The lawyer was gunned down in cold blood by unknown assailants riding a motorbike, in what has shocked both the legal fraternity and the nation at large.

Speaking in Migori County at the launch of a regional security tour, CS Murkomen stressed the importance of collective vigilance and public cooperation in tackling rising insecurity.

It is in the interest of the security sector and Kenyans that the truth comes out. I am very optimistic that in a very short time, we will have leads as far as this issue is concerned

The CS praised eyewitnesses who have already provided valuable accounts to investigators. He confirmed that several persons of interest have been identified, with some currently under interrogation.

A Personal Loss for Murkomen

Murkomen revealed that the late Michael Mbobu was not just a fellow professional but also a former teacher and close personal friend, adding a personal note to his public remarks.

The CS went ahead to assure the public that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is working closely with the Interior Ministry to ensure justice is served. While the motive behind the killing remains unclear, Murkomen emphasized that no possibility is being ruled out.

Justice for All — Not Just High-Profile Cases

In his speech, CS Murkomen was keen to reassure Kenyans that the government is equally committed to delivering justice for all victims of crime, regardless of their public profile.

Murkomen concluded by promising to personally follow up on the ongoing investigations and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

He urged that those with any information that could help the investigation should vreach out to their nearest police station or contact the DCI hotline anonymously.
