Raila Odinga Junior, the son of the late opposition leader and former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, has been installed as the head of the Odinga family in a traditional ceremony held at Opoda Farm in Bondo, Siaya County.
The installation follows the passing of his father, who was a towering figure in Kenyan politics and a respected statesman across Africa. The ceremony marked the continuation of leadership within one of Kenya’s most influential families.

Dressed in traditional Luo attire, Junior was formally handed the mantle of family leadership in accordance with Luo customs — a symbolic gesture that entrusts him with the duty of upholding unity, guiding family affairs, and preserving his father’s legacy.
