The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced on Tuesday morning that Victor Ouma Okoth is now in custody for his alleged involvement in this heinous crime.
Detectives reported that Ouma was apprehended in his hideout located in Nairobi’s Dandora Phase IV late Monday night. Currently held at Muthaiga Police Station, he is suspected of renting a place with funds linked to the crime.
Forensic evidence has established his connection to the crime scene, prompting a comprehensive investigation carried out by a collaborative team from the DCI’s Homicide, CRIB, and Operations units.Authorities have disclosed that further inquiries are underway to locate any potential accomplices who may have collaborated with Ouma.
The tragic discovery of Willis Ayieko’s body occurred on Wednesday, found near a stream in the Nyamninia sub-location of Gem Yala, Siaya County. Ayieko had been reported missing after attending a funeral in the North Gem area on Friday, October 18, 2024.Compounding the mystery, his vehicle was discovered abandoned near a gas station in Sabatia, Vihiga County, on Tuesday, October 22.
