The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed Robert Kibet Kibor as its new Registrar. In a statement issued on September 7, 2026, the Commission said Kibor’s appointment was made in accordance with Section 10(2) of the Judicial Service Act, Cap. 8A. As Registrar, Kibor will provide strategic leadership and oversee the management of the Commission’s technical and shared services functions.
He will also support the JSC in carrying out its constitutional mandate by helping develop and implement policies, strategies and programmes aimed at strengthening institutional effectiveness, promoting accountability and enhancing the administration of justice.
Kibor’s Experience at JSC
Kibor is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 14 years of post-admission experience. He joined the Judicial Service Commission in 2012 as a Legal Researcher and has since held various positions within the institution. Before his appointment as Registrar, Kibor served as Assistant Director, Legal Services, his most recent position at the Commission.
In his new role, Kibor will be accountable to the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary and the Secretary to the Commission in the execution of his duties. His appointment is expected to strengthen the Commission’s leadership and support its efforts to improve institutional performance and the effective administration of justice.
