The search for missing Kenya Forest Service (KFS) Legal Services Manager, Esther Wairimu Keige, has come to a heartbreaking conclusion after her body was discovered in a coffee plantation in Juja, Kiambu County. The 54-year-old advocate had been reported missing since June 10, 2026, when she left her office located along Kiambu Road and failed to return. Her disappearance sparked concern among family, colleagues, and authorities.

According to Juja Sub-County Police Commander Isaac Kombo, her body was found in Area 4 near Karimenu. The discovery was later confirmed by a family member, who revealed that two relatives visited the scene and positively identified the remains. Police noted that while the body was intact, it had already started decomposing. Authorities have since transferred the body to the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to determine the exact cause of death.

In a new development, students from a nearby school told investigators that Wairimu had recently been seen at their institution. She was reportedly seeking assistance to get food shortly before her death. Police have launched further investigations into the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death. Officers are currently recording statements from family members as they work to piece together her final days and better understand what she may have been going through. The incident has raised fresh concerns about safety and mental well-being, as authorities continue to pursue leads in the case.
