According to KENHA there will be a two-week traffic jam for motorists approaching the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) via the Haile Selassie and Uhuru highway roundabout. The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) says, this will make some planned construction projects at the location easier.
The agency announced in a notice that the disruption will start on August 31 and last through September 15.
However, it has given motorists a way to enter and exit. KeNHA asked motorists to comply with the traffic cops who will be stationed at the location. For example, there will be an alternative route at Greenpark for cars traveling from Upper Hill to Waiyaki Way, and a diversion at Greenpark for cars traveling from Mombasa Road to Waiyaki Way. Motorists wishing to travel from Waiyaki Way to Mombasa Road will divert via Rubis Petrol Station, while those wishing to travel from the CBD to Mombasa Road will do so via the Ring road behind Neno Evangelism Church.
Vehicles traveling from the CBD to Upper Hill and vice versa shouldn’t be stopped, according to KeNHA.
