Brazilian midfielder Fabinho has joined Turkish side Trabzonspor on a two-year contract after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad as a free agent. The Turkish club confirmed the signing on Monday, bringing the former Liverpool star back to European football.
Fabinho Agrees Trabzonspor Move
The 32-year-old midfielder spent three seasons with Al-Ittihad before becoming a free agent. Trabzonspor said Fabinho will earn around €4 million ($4.66 million) annually under his new contract. His arrival reunites him with former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah, who has made a strong start to life at the Turkish club.
Successful Liverpool Career
Fabinho rose to prominence during Monaco’s successful 2016/17 campaign, helping the French club win the Ligue 1 title before moving to Liverpool in 2018. During his time at Anfield, the Brazilian became an important part of Jurgen Klopp’s midfield and helped the club secure several major trophies.

Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish top flight last season and are currently competing in the Europa League qualifiers. The club will face Hungary’s Ferencvaros on Thursday in the second leg of their playoff tie, with Trabzonspor needing to overturn a 1-0 deficit to progress.
