TikTok has revealed that it removed more than 884,000 videos uploaded in Kenya during the first quarter of 2026 for violating its Community Guidelines, highlighting the platform’s growing focus on content moderation and user safety.
According to TikTok’s latest transparency report, a total of 884,591 videos were taken down between January and March 2026. Notably, 99.7% of these videos were identified and removed before users reported them, showing the increasing reliance on automated systems to detect harmful or inappropriate content. The platform also disclosed that 96.3% of the violating videos were removed within 24 hours of being posted, reducing the likelihood of harmful material spreading widely.
In addition to removing videos, TikTok reported that it deleted 48,739 accounts suspected of violating its policies. These actions are part of broader efforts to curb spam, misinformation, and other forms of harmful activity on the platform.
